How soon can I get an appointment?
Appointments are usually available within a few weeks of contacting us. However,
under special circumstances we can schedule an appointment sooner. Please go to
the Appointments page to request an appointment.
What if I need to cancel an appointment?
We require at least 24 hours advance notice if you are unable to keep the scheduled
appointment. Clients are expected to be financially responsible for the sessions
that are canceled with less than 24 hours notice.
What is a psychological evaluation?
A psychological evaluation consists of a variety of testing procedures to measure
psychological traits and behavior or for studying a specific aspect of ability.
A full psychological evaluation usually consists of a cognitive evaluation and an
emotional evaluation to fully understand how an individual is functioning in the
world, both intellectually and emotionally.
How do you diagnose Learning Disability
/ ADHD?
We conduct Psychological Tests tailored to the specific individual needs. The results
of these tests are a significant measure to make a diagnosis.
What tests or measurements do you use?
We use assessment measures that are standardized for the particular need and population
group. We use the latest versions of the tests that are specifically designed to
help make an accurate diagnosis.
Who does the testing?
All evaluations are done by our qualified psychologists. All our psychologists have
doctoral degrees and are licensed by the state board. Please take a look at the

How do you gather information about symptoms
in more than one setting?
We ask you to fill up a detailed questionnaire which includes information about
symptoms in different settings. If needed, we also consult with the family members,
school staff, therapists, tutors , physician and any other people who have a significant
role. If we feel the need, we also observe the child in school/home settings.
Over how long a period of time will the
assessment last?
We complete the testing in 1 day or spread over multiple sessions based on the individual
needs.
How can I prepare my child for the testing?
Children generally enjoy evaluations, because they are getting a good deal of individual
attention. Parts of the evaluation consist of tasks children generally find enjoyable,
such as drawing, puzzles, and making up stories. At the same time, they will probably
be tired after the evaluation, just because they are spending so much time interacting
with one adult. It is best to tell them that the evaluation is made up of a bunch
of activities, and a lot of them are fun. Furthermore, tell them this is something
that gives us information on how the child is doing, and on what their strengths
are, so that we all know how to help them better.
How soon will I get the report after
the testing is over?
Usually, the report is ready within 2 weeks of the testing completion date. Once
the report is ready, we schedule a feedback session. At the feedback session we
discuss the report with you and answer your questions.
Do you prescribe medication?
We do not prescribe medication, but use effective psychological treatment methods
to help our clients overcome their particular problem. However, if we do feel the
need for medication, we will provide you with a referral to a prescribing physician.

Do you accept insurance?
We do accept most of the major insurance plans, Please contact us to confirm about your specific plan. If we do not accept your plan, we will be happy to help you get reimbursed. We will provide you with the procedure codes and a receipt which you can
file with your insurance company directly and get reimbursed.
